Default 52-54 wagon, sedan delivery rear door seal

I am looking for the rear door seal for my 53 sedan delivery. I have not been able to find one from the usual places.

Does anyone here know who sells the rubber for the rear door?

Thanks in advance
Rich

Rich,

Takea look at Steele Rubber Products' web site. It's been maybe 15 years since Idid my '53 Ranch Wagon, but I think I bought a roll of extruded foam rubberdoor seal from them. I just looked at their site, and the closest item I saw isp/n 70-0311-73. Glues into the right angle of the metal on the tailgate, with a protruding lip to effect a seal to the body. I remember that Ihad a few original samples of the seal, and I shopped for a cross-section thatwas closest to the original. I recall they had a bunch of profiles and sizes tochoose from. I will say that my R/W leaks a lot at the upper corners, as thecurved seal on the upper tailgate doesn't really make contact with thesquared corners of the body. Mine had some original L-shaped rubber fillerpieces that were about 1" X 2" that were glued to the corners of thetailgate (or maybe to the body... I can't recall) to try to fill the gap. Notsure if they were factory original pieces, though. It wasn't clear if thecorner pieces overlapped the foam seal rubber, or they were spliced in. Theywere pretty mangled and misshaped and very hard. Maybe someday I'll try toreplicate the corner pieces, and then splice them into the other seal rubber tomake it look nice. Not sure what a sedan delivery would have, but I would thinkthey're the same profiles. I wish I had a sedan delivery! They're neat, but Ilike my Ranch Wagon a lot. Good luck

I used this one on my 53 Courier.

https://www.steelerubber.com/door-we...rip-70-0311-73

It takes about 14’ of that product to go around the door.
I also got the rear glass seal and front door seals from them.
