Dis-assembly processes
Team,
Just getting started taking my 31 Tudor apart. I'm taking lots of pictures and bagging and tagging everything as needed. I have come to a cross roads need some advice from the group. 1. Should I pull the motor and trans before I remove the body? 2. Is it better to have the body media blasted or dipped to remove rust before I start the body work? Mark |

Re: Dis-assembly processes
I have come to a cross roads need some advice from the group.
1. Should I pull the motor and trans before I remove the body? The vote is 6 one way, and half a dozen the other. The transmission shift tower, the pedals, and the column need to be off to easily remove the body. 2. Is it better to have the body media blasted or dipped to remove rust before I start the body work? Chemically stripping the body is the better method providing it is done correctly, and you have the ability to coat all the bare metal afterwards. Media blasting only cleans "line of sight". |
