Last year I sold a truck to a late 70s gentleman. He paid in cash. I went and bought a vehicle with some of the cash. Bank flagged a $100.00 bill. I made it right with the seller. The man who I got the bill from would not make it right with me. I could have easily used that bill at Hershey. So now I inspect all $100
Tells you on line how to.

If fake notes are such a problem over there, has anybody asked where they come from? maybe the Chinese can make a good copy!

Over the years, I've taken cash, checks and wire transfers...never been burned. Even took PayPay for a deposit. I will not take cashier's checks as they are easily forged. Too, all of my sales involve shipping so nothing leaves the garage until the money is in my bank account.

Yep never see the car go down the road until valid greebacks in the bank.
Wick, you could have taken that to the local FBI and/or Secret Service and told them who passed it to you. He would have wished he made it right over the visit(s) he would likely have gotten.

Might be an argument to improve your banknotes? It has been decades since we dropped paper - not much counterfeiting now.

Synch,

they try and try to improve, but there is so much funny money out there, that it isnt funny anymore! Most notes now have holograms, but old notes still out there mixed in with the new. very easy to pass a bad note at say, a gas station, where nobody checks.

I THINK PayPal is safe, but has anyone ever had at problem with it? Seems like PayPal has some sort of protections built into it. At least I've been assuming it's a gaurenteed payment, and they are on the hook if someone stiffs them. Of course there is a fee involved.

Paypal can be a HUGE problem to a seller. if the buyer decides he doesnt want your vehicle, ppl will give them their money back and have fun getting your vehicle back, with associated costs to do so.

Ive done it once and went well, but internationally only do bank transfers now with Wells Fargo.
In person- always cash and always will be.
