Radio Static

Can somebody tell me how to get the ignition static out of my '40 sedan Philco radio? I've installed .5mfd suppressors on the distributor, regulator, oil sender, under dash power terminal block and fuel sender in trunk all to no avail. Original 6v system. Carl

you will have to shield the antenna wire with braided mesh that is grounded

sounds like youve covered everthing but the generator out put terminal try that

Are the spark plug wires solid core?

The noise you are hearing in your radio is caused from the transmission of RF (radio frequency) transmissions from your spark plug wires. You will need a resistor type suppressor on the end of each spark plug wire at the plug or a set of resistor type plug wires. All the other types of condensers which you have fitted are not designed to eliminate that RF type noise. Regards, Kevin.
