Default Looking Like Winter

Its not unheard of to have snow for Halloween but this looks and feels more like December. The old Merc hadn't run for over a month but fired up without too much trouble in the 12 degree temps. The leaky teapot needed priming of course. If I did much driving in these temps I'd look into getting the heater working.

It's been in the 20's and 30's here in Breezy Point for the last few days. I was driving my '51, and while the heater is hooked up and fully functional, it sure takes a long time to warm up. I have 180 degree thermostats in the engine and the temp gauges (both of them) come up to 170 in a reasonable amount of time. However, it seems that it takes the heater about 15 minutes of driving for the heater to put out a reasonable amount of heat. Once it gets there, it is toasty warm, but I don't seem to remember them taking that long back in the day. Oh well, it's put away now, so I guess I don't have to worry about it.

Hi Jim!0
We had that weather Sunday/ Monday, now it’s turned cold, in the 20’s, with a real biting wind.
Supposed to get colder this weekend!

How’s your hip doing?

Ralph, looks like you went from Fall to Winter, it actually supposed to get to 74 degrees, but very wet for this Halloween day, crazy weather.

We pretty much did. Been a long time since I've seen 74 degrees. Early September I think.
I was a bit disappointed to find that the driving video through yesterday's snow did not turn out. The bumper mounted Gopro is visible in this shot but apparently it turned itself off as soon as I got back in the car. So I guess I'll have to do it again.

Hello Ralph, my hip has been doing real good until a couple of days ago. It has been aching quite a bit . I think I have some arthritis in there. The Doc. told me last time I was in to see him that the x-rays showed some calcium build up around the new bone growth. maybe I have just been over doing it. finally got the house remodel done and am finally moving everything back in. still have to clear out one bay in the garage before the snow hits, so I can park the daily driver inside. I hate scraping windows and clearing snow off the car or truck . Hope all is well with you and every one in Fairbanks

Snowed twice this week, record amount for the month. Don't think we'll see too many kids out tonight for Halloween candy.
