Intake Manifold 35 Ford
I purchased an intake manifold for my 35 ford. It is original stock made by standard Automobile Manufacturing in Los Angeles. It appears to be an after market manufacturer. It was sold to me as new original stock. As the enclosed picture shows the neck on the front of the manifold, where the generator mounts is much lower than my broken one has. The neck on my old one is cracked.
Actually this design looks like a better style not having the tall neck to hold the generator. My question is this: it appears that I will need a shorter fan belt, and that I might have an issue with the fan blades clearing the water pumps. Has anyone dealt with this ? Will I need any other parts? Any input will be helpful. Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk |

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
That intake would look great on a '37

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
Yes, 37's have the generator mounted lower and redesigned fanblades and ignition coil to suit

Thanks for the input. It came in a box marked 35/36 but the box had been opened. Probably an honest mistake by the seller but I will find out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
I was planning to respond to your wanted ad here, but hesitated a bit, then saw your post that you got one.
The one in your picture is 37 to 39 (standard). There are also at least two versions of the 35 intake, and the 36 is slightly different, but will work on 35 if you're not concerned about show correctness.

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
It also appears to be made for a 91-99 Ford Holley carburetor. Your '35 would have aStgromberg carburetor, not a Ford Holley 94.

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
Alan, look again, the manifold pictured is designed for a Stromberg 97

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
Uncle, the bases of the two types of carburetor are different shaped. The Strombergs have a rounded base, whereas the 94's have a chevron shape. The shape is duplicated in the appropriate manifold riser[s]

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
The casting of that manifold looks a little rough to be NOS. Maybe it's just a poor quality picture....

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
Alan, with respect, most early [34-37] intakes I see are not open under the carb base. Any I've found that had a hole I have assumed [yeah- I know about assuming] have 'blown out' in that area and consequently I trash them.

Re: Intake Manifold 35 Ford
Brian, you got me doubting myself, so i went out to the boneyard and found these two manifolds.

I am not an expert on the '35 but I thought the issue would be the fan blade hitting the coil. Send that one back and get the right one. There had to be a reason they mounted the generator higher. A "wanted" ad might turn something up. I would expect less than $50. Charlie Stephens |
