Default Lincoln Zephr trans mount question

We've got a '37 LZ trans with open drive at the ass end--
what rear trans mount will mate up in a '40 Ford passenger chassis
to the original Henry frame trans mount? The LZ has 8"
mount spacing & the '40 has 10" spacing.
Thanks much...........Roger

1936 & 1937 Lincoln transmissions are the same as the Ford transmission with Ford gears 1938 & 1939 transmissions are side loaders with floor shift and Ford gears. Don't understand your spacing dimensions.?

Use the rear mount from a '37 to '41 Ford trans.
It will bolt up.

Not only do you need the correct '37-'41 rear bearing retainer but the open mainshaft is not going to work for you. The mainshaft should be the one appropriate for your gearset which should be the '40 to '48 passenger car style. I would not be surprised if you may have left out some information that could change all this. Happens often out here. Good Luck: Fred A

A picture of your transmission would clear up the mystery. Open drive and closed drive output shafts are not the same. Like what was already stated, it seems like you are leaving out some information.
