Default Zenith 3 Ford Carburetor

I have a couple of Zenith 3 Carburetors. One is a side bowl version and one is a "Regular" Zenith 3 Carb(No indented firewall version). Meaning they both have a thinner casting, both have a "3" on the bowl and a flange on the manifold connection. I have had these many years and have not seen one for sale anywhere. Any opinions on what these might be worth nowadays?

You could be sitting on a gold mine as one recently sold for $910

Best of luck!

It did not sell as it is back on

Seller discovered a crack in it

From his auction page

ADDED INFO: After listing this I realized it has a small hairline crack in the throat of the carb, I notified the high bidder and he didn’t want to accept the carb so I’m relisting it with 2 pictures of the crack, the crack will not in any way affect the Carburetor bc of where it is

As always condition is most important . The side bowl style usually bring more than the other . Norm

I have one of the regular #3 on my 30 coupe and a friend has one on his 31 pickup. Did not realize they were worth anywhere near that much.

I have/had several and it is all hype. There is no run difference in them.
I asked big bucks for mine too as that is what they bring.
Some just want to say "I have a Zenith 3"

I recently purchased a rebuilt one for $450. Cores seem to run somewhere in the $225 - $275 range. Hope this helps.

Comes down to, which version of the side bowl, how many of that version were made and how bad you want it. If Zenith, Holley and Ford made them (I would have to check the book on that) then one version may be more common and lesser price then another.

I think what makes these carburetors unique is that the Zenith 3 was made by Ford. Not Holley or Zenith. As I understand, this carburetor was a part of the transition from Model A production to V8 (Detroit Lubricator) and Model B production (Zenith). Again, as I understand, there is no performance difference between all three manufacturers and all parts are interchangeable.

Someone tried to take it apart with a chisel or screw driver and caved in the the bottom casting. Could have other damage

Rarity of the Zenith three carburetor is what drives up the price . Actually the Zenith 3 is thin and fragile
