Where is a '33 carburetor gasket?
Who makes a Detroit Lubricator intake manifold gasket?

Re: Where is a '33 carburetor gasket?
A number of years ago, an outfit called “Carbco” in St. Louis was able to get me a gasket set for Detroit Lubricator carbs. I’m pretty sure you can google them and get a phone number.
I think this question has been asked before, so you might be able to search the site and find other sources. Good luck |

If you mean the carburetor to intake manifold gasket, making one yourself should be considered if you have some sheet gasket material. The gaskets within the carburetor are complex and not easily home made.

OMG on the price ($193 for the carb kit), however I can understand the low volume. I agree, the base mounting gasket should be very easy to make. Sal |

If you are going to be pulling a carb off and on then put a light coating of white lithium grease on the base gasket. This prevents the gasket from getting stuck to the carb and tearing. You don't gouge up the machined surfaces trying to scrape off the old gasket. Last edited by Flathead Fever; 02-19-2019 at 08:13 PM. |

If you need the carburetor to intake gasket, Fel-Pro makes them.. They come in the Early engine sets. If that is what you need, PM me your address and I'll regular mail you one.

Re: Where is a '33 carburetor gasket?
I wanted to buy a couple of Detroit Lubricator to Manifold gaskets without having to disassemble anything at this point. I was reluctant to paint the bottom of a carburetor in an attempt to transfer the profile to a piece of paper or gasket material. I have NO desire to to pay $194.00 for a gasket "Kit." I have ordered a spacer, not here yet. The person who makes the spacer does not have any appropriate gaskets. I thought there might be some enterprising gent who accurately stamps them out here in North America.

Re: Where is a '33 carburetor gasket?
Also the $194 carb kit was not just the gaskets. It was a complete rebuild kit with the brass hard parts, etc. If you have the ability to remove the carb, then you can make a gasket too, or as said above they are available.

Re: Where is a '33 carburetor gasket?
There are few gaskets anywhere else on a '33 simpler to make. Just trace around the base of the carburetor, cut the overall shape, hold it against the base and with a #2 pencil find the edges of the three holes and cut them out. Done. Sheet gasket material is inexpensive and available at any modern auto parts store.

You really should try to make your own. You;ll be glad you did later on. It's the first step from "parts changer" to "mechanic".
