Default 16 inch steelie wheel widths

I've got some 16 inch Ford wheels, 5, 4 1/2, and 4 inches wide.

What year did these come from?

I believe the 4" ones are 40-41 and the 4.5" ones ar 46-48. The 5" ones are optional for pick up's, Maybe also 46-48. I don't know.

46-48 had 4" here in NZ. I have 5" ones also which must be pickup wheels because they have no hubcap lugs.

I've got some 16" x 5" wheels dated '40 or '41. They are almost identical to '40 Ford centres, but the mounting face is set an 1/8" or so deeper: it has been suggested they may be Mercury?

16" X 4.5" wide came standard on 49-51 Deluxe cars. My 1950 Deluxe Business Coupe had the 16" when I got it back in 1978.
