Default Installation of female dovetail in 160B

How do you install complete female dovetail in a 31 Slant Windshield Town Sedan 160B 4 door?

Some words of warning.

Some of the kits will have springs that are too strong. After the slider is installed you should be able to move the slider rearward with moderate pressure from one finger.

The original kits that A&L sold were this way and corrected later when the owner found out they do not work. While building his own slant he found the door did not close right. Then he remembered some guy at Hershey telling him the springs were wrong.

I believe they can be put in from the opening. I do not know I had a different battle with my slant window cabriolet. They used the same parts.

Thanks Kevin, there are no dovetails in the channel at this time. I am trying to figure out how to get the new complete dovetail into the channel.

first is the female part in the door posts. second do you have the correct dove tails and springs . if you do not have the correct parts you will fight it for a long time. if you do have the right parts they are pretty easy to install. install the spring into the dove tail put the lower dove tail in the hole and using a small screw driver push the dove tail in past the retainer lower into place let off on the screw drive and it should be in place. now do the same with the top half.
