Does it need a rebuild? Or just a good cleaning?

By this time, probably needs rebuilt. Chances are the throttle shaft/hole is worn and cork float past usage and other then that maybe a gasket set. Depending on what you see inside if you pull the cover off; They used a pot metal ventura that is almost impossible to get out due to swelling and cracking. You then need at least one special tool or have to make one, to get the spray needle seat out if it needs to removed. There is a little more work to set the G up then getting the fuel level puddle correct like on an NH, the idle pickup tube needs to be set too. If you have the Model T Service Bulletins it tells how. I am slowly working on one now. By the way just to let you know, it is a Holley G. You can get some but not all parts new.

The Holley G is one of the simplest carburetors to rebuild. I bet you could do it yourself. Here's how:

Hey Chris judging by the condition of that carb, you probably have a lot of other things that "need re-building"

Let us know how you make out.

Not too much. Mostly just the engine, transmission, front axle, rear axle, suspension, radiator, steering box, Brakes, and a few other things.

That sort of sums up my 26 Fordor project, saving up for a new Berg's radiator and get the rebuilt ruckstell installed before fall.

You got a wealth of T info and parts with Glen Chaffin and Milt Webb on the left coast

I was at Chaffin's Garage last week. I saw some used parts I was interested in. He told me he couldn't sell them as someone from Canada was coming to pick up all of his used parts.
He has an interesting setup. He lives in a beautiful Victorian home with his two story garage behind it. He also owns the house next door which houses his parts business. Every inch of that home is racks full of new parts.

My engine looked like that and later I found out during the rebuild that the oil line inside was plugged so no oil was getting to the front of the old engine aside from whatever was coming from further back inside, boy things were well worn for sure.
