Default Spark plug questions....

Hi there.
What is the basic criteria for spark plugs to work well with a stock Model A? Would any 14mm spark plug work? Just got me thinking about when I go to swap meets and see those big boxes full of neat old spark plugs from manufacturers long since forgotten. Would be neat to see some old green stripe ACs or blue tops on the old banger. So would any 14mm work?

Hey Kevin, I'm sure you know your going to need a plug adapter to run 14 mm. I did see a substitute chart running around here somewhere that tells which are best.

On the old Fordbarn you could just go to the Tech Section, I think they were on Steve Plucks website. You need to check the heat range of the plug you want use. Some are hotter than others and may cause damage to your engine.

If you haven't run 3x plugs you won't have anything to compare for original running as Ford wanted.
