Hi All. I'm looking to install some interior this spring on my 38 truck.

I don't have any of the old pieces, as most were missing or in very poor condition.

What are my options? Who offers decent kits? Are there templates anywhere?

ABS vs cardboard.

I am also interested in pictures of your own interiors also. Kick panels, headliner, back of cab, or firewall.

All info is welcome, thank you.

Are you looking to restore it to stock? The interior panels were just cardboard and most all of the early Ford parts places carry them.

Labonney Baron has the best interiors and at a good price and they fit.

Is the fit fairly decent?

I haven't made a definitive decision yet. Looking at options. My seat was done a ways back and its black "tuck n' roll".

Quiet Ride Solutions in Stockton, Ca. makes ABS panel kits for pickups. to me they are nicer than the cardboard ones, but it all depends on how original you want your pickup to look. www.quietride.com.

I'd installed a Lebaron kit in my recent '40 PU restoration. It was a very good quality kit. The color and stitch pattern on the seats matched quite well to the authentic covers. The cardboard panels were of good quality as well.
The headliner? It wasn't good enough a fit for me. Most guys would probably never notice it. I did modify the headliner to fit as perfectly as I was able.
No doubt much better than Ford demanded in 1940.

I am nearly certain headliners were not available until mid 1940 so that should not concern you.

My truck is fairly original except, it does have a Mitchell OD and 39/40 brakes.

Looks like Joes has the cardboard kits listed.
I do have all the metal wind-lace pieces for around the doors.

Has anyone used the fiberglass panels and have pictures? curious what it looks like.

On my 39 the interior pieces were in very poor shape, with the interior kit I got through Joes antique was able to pre-fit and line up using a lot of the old tack holes.

I used some of the sound deadening material in the cab roof and behind the seat areas, also from Joes. As I recall there was very little trimming and was very satisfied with my amature skills.

Unable to post photos @ this time. The headliner is a two person job for sure, measure twice and cut once

door panels are cardboard on the '39 and sheet metal on the '39 or is it the other way around, I have one of each.

Clem, Cardboard for 38 and metal for the 39.

In addition the 38 doors have a channel at the front and top of the door the cardboard slips into. 39 doesn't not.
