1936 oil pan paint color
Wanted to know if the oil pan on a 1936 coupe is the same green color as the engine or is it black. Also what is the correct color for the transmission.

Re: 1936 oil pan paint color
Oil pan is black - gloss.
Transmission case is green to match the engine block. Milled surfaces are free of paint.

Re: 1936 oil pan paint color
Thank you kube for your answer. I have seen a lot of engines with the oil pan the same color green. My engine has a black oil pan but had to clarify the correct color. Thanks again, Tony.

Re: 1936 oil pan paint color
Mike,
Just in case someone concludes that your last sentence applies to all flatheads, with regard to the milled top deck surface where the intake manifold is attached, only the area within the outline of the intake manifold was unpainted on '32 and perhaps some early '33 V8 blocks. |
