Gas turned on? needle valve opening? Maybe blow out the gas line or clean the tank.

You say carb is filling with gas but gas not getting to engine. I kind of went through the same thing on my 26 coupe and finally pulled the carb, took it apart (removed bowl, float pin, float) and thoroughly cleaned it. Reassembled it and bolted it back in place. Fired right up. Gas was getting into the carb bowl, but not refilling the bowl at a sufficient pace. I figure I had crud in the needle seat or some such thing. It's not a hard job to unbolt the carb and clean it with carb cleaner. Spray every crevice good and reassemble.

Could also be a vacuum leak.

Check the float level. Raise the gas level if needed. I ran into 2 Ts that I had to raise the float. I agree, clean the carb jets.
