Default 6 volt coil wiring

I have 41 ford with helmet style distributor, external coil conversion. This is positive ground so which wire goes to the coil is it negative from switch and positive to the distributor?

The distributor completes the circuit by going to ground when the points close, so it's the positive wire.

Yes. Wire from ignition switch to (-) terminal on the coil. (+) terminal on the coil to the distributor (points). The condenser is also somewhere in the circuit from the (+) terminal on the coil to the points in the distributor.
