Default early V8 fan belt

Has anyone ever seen an original "brown" fanbelt on an early V8 Ford?

Only ones painted with Roy Nacewicz's fan belt paint.

NOS belts are rare, but they turn up from time to time. Normally they've shrunk and need to be stretched to be used. The belt in the photo below is NOS with the part number, Ford script, and the Firestone "F" molded into the inner surface.

I have a correct NOS 40 belt for the concourse. I would call it more gray then brown or red. I think Mike Kubarth said there were 2 supplier in 40, and one of them was grayish.

I have an old brown one in my stash. Will check today and see if I can find the info that DavidG mentions. I also passed on one at an estate sale two years. It was available for $50.00.

Might be the color setting on your system, it is very brown on mine. Compare it to the red strips on the radiator hoses.

most old inner tubes, radiator hoses and fan belts when not black were more red than brown but nothing as bright or brilliant red as those stripes on the hoses above.

I used Roy Nacewiciz's paint on my fan belt and the color is a little reddish brown , would have preferred a little lighter and browner..... however , looks great!

The brown belt that I have has none of the markings mentioned by DavdG, but it does not appear to be one that was painted or dyed brown.
