Default Roadster Pickup Tops

I have heard that early 1928 roadster Pickup tops did fold down but ford then went to non folding tops in late 1928 or 1929. Can some out there confirm this. Thanks Tom PS if someone out there has an extra top or pieces for one that would be a great assist. Thanks Tom

I don't know but I have a March '28 open cab pickup with the left hand emergency brake and other early features and the top is the non-folding type. It is easy to remove though.

Hi Tom,
Attached, please find two images that might help.
To answer your question, I dont think so. I believe it was an aftermarket option which does not work well if you have the wooden side rails on the bin.
I found the first image here on this forum which gives you the dimensions to built your own fold down top frame.
The second image shows my RPU with timber side rails which would not allow the fold down top to lie flat.
I have owned a few convertables with drop down soft tops which sounds and looks great BUT could also be a PITA at times. I quite enjoy my RPU with a fixed but removable soft top, which I built and covered myself.
Notice the sides are not quite correct, but the C shape is what the missus wanted. The small table on the back might be a bit confusing.

Lebaron Bonney has folding top bows for the RPU.
