Default drum tailight one more time

I'm working on drum tailights and wonder what finish should be on the metal STOP sign inside, behind the glass. Also why is DUOLIGHT sometimes indented and sometimes raised.

I can't remember the source, but I heard that Canadian is indented & American is raised.
