I thought I had a '37 bumper in the garage, quick review of my inventory produced nada.

I had a '37 for several years, restored two of them so I had a lot of spare parts, most of which have been disposed of. I do know that all '37 bumpers, front/rear and pickups are the same.

At least one exception is the rear bumper on a 37 Sedan Delivery. It is way different.

The bumpers on my 1937 car are 3 1/2" tall and the is a gap about 1/4" in the center to the floor.

Here are the descriptions of the 1937 and 1938 bumpers from Bob Drake's catalog,

"1937: When installed the end curve goes down like a frown. The bolt holes are just below center line. The rear bumper is different in that it has a larger bow compared to the front.

1938-1939 Standard: When this one is installed the end curve goes up like a smile. The bolt holes are noticeably above center line. Front and rear are the same."

Let me know if you need any more dimensions.

37 rear bumper is wider and more curved than a 38.

Bill, I beg to differ. '37 passenger rear bumpers followed the bobbed rear fenders.

My 1937 front bumper is 61 5/8" across the front and with about a 5 1/2" bow. The bow is a difficult to measure without taking it off the brackets, which I didn't do.

Well now, it would seem that someone took it upon himself to alter my comment about rear bumpers, making the type bold in lieu of regular type.
I should have clarified my comment stating that the rear bumpers on station wagons and sedan deliveries can and are different from the regular car line.
