Default Engine Expert Opinions Needed

I have an earlier post called "Question on Cam Gear Marks" that discusses an engine problem I am having. Please visit that post and give me your take on my problem.

Thanks

Like I posted before, I would start with indexing the cam. You don't have to check every lobe if it is known good cam, but you need to check that it is opening and closing at the proper degrees on the #1 cylinder. It is always possible that a cam gear gets marked or installed incorrectly.

Are you using the correct cylinder for number One?
Once on a T timing gear I misstook a brand mark for the timing mark.
It was a dot with a letter in it.
The real mark was not very easy to see.

Yes, I'm using the passenger front cylinder as #1. My crank gear was so lightly marked it could be easily missed. It does fullfill the rule 3rd gear tooth clockwise from the keyway of the gear.
