can you use trim rings with lead wheel weights
I'm getting ready to mount new tires on stock Ford 16" wheels. I'd like to know if the lead wheel balance weights will interfere with me using trim or beauty rings. on them. I was thinking of using the balance beads but the tire shop guy says the lead weights work much better.

Have them put the weights on the interior side of the rim not the outside (street) side?

The wheel/tire assemblies should have any trim rings installed before balancing and then it can be determined if necessary that the weights can be installed.

It tires and wheels won't balance out correctly if the weights are put on one side only.

I found out the new steel weights are to big and full disk is no fit

I'm using the trim rings supplied by Bill Hirsch Auto on my '34. Wheel weights do not interfere with these trim rings....

Use stick on weights, designed initially for alloy wheels and you can hide them behind the trim.

I use dynabeads for balancing and skip the old lead weights all together. I have had them on my cars for years. Innovativebalancing.com
