Default Dual side mounts on 29 Sport coupe

Need help ... I have a 29 Sport Coupe with dual side mounts / front fenders ..
1.) Did this vehicle when originally built in 29 have this feature DMSM ?
2.) When opening the doors on both sides the they do not open the full 90 deg. but only about 45 deg. before they hit the tire ..
3.) Besides removing the tires any suggestions that would make it easier to get in the car ...

Unfortunately there are no tricks that defy the geometry. Even undersized tires won't make much difference.

While it was possible to special order side mounts (one or both) it certainly wasn't common. If your car was ordered that way then both side mount arm mounting brackets will be riveted to the frame with three rivets and not bolted.

Marco , Thank you for responding .. Apparently aftermarket mounts as they are bolted not riveted as you state .. Ed

I think that it used to be a status symbol to have dual side mounts on a restored Model A. Probably still is in some places. Anyway, that may be why your sport coupe now has dual side mounts. Just my opinion.

Also, if your car came from the factory with even one sidemount, there would be no bolt holes or plugs in the rear lower panel beneath the decklid and on the body's lower crossmember.

This reminds me of a term we used to see in Hemmings and the like back in the 60s & 70s but seems to have fallen out of fashion:

The Six Wheeled Roadster.

Thanks for post. My drivers side has rivets and passenger side has bolts.

I don't think that's a correct statement. Where did you find this information?

Say you had one side mount, and you wanted to add a rear mount.
You'd have too change the lower rear panel, or drill it,...then put
holes or change the rear sill. Is this what your saying?
