Default changing to later steering wheel

Was hoping to fit a 39 banjo steering wheel to our 36 coupe . Have any Barners tried this swap before we buy one ?

I have a '36 Banjo wheel hanging in my garage, the spokes are flat with about a 1" dish to the center. The '39 wheel has bent spokes with a similar dish.

I think the '39 wheel will fit onto the '36 column without any alteration.
A lot of people like the '39 steering wheel, from my point of view, the '36 is a better looking wheel.

Yes, 39 wheel will directly interchange. You'll want to use it in conjunction with a 38-39 centre as the 35-36 style is too big to suit the 39 banjo
