I'm sure this is a quality product and does what it says it will do. However I have no personal experience with it. I got the same stuff at a big box store for about 50 bucks. What you are paying for other than material is the custom cutting. That would be neat. I'm cutting my own with a utility knife and scissors. So far so good it looks great. Read the 'cautions' on the glue can. This is some really nasty stuff!

Kit uses Dyna-mat, which is supposed to be the best... also, it looks like they've done some experimentation for placement of the sound-deadening pieces...

I think I would buy the kit for my first go with it...

I used Dynamat in my '55 Ford Ranchwagon and it really works great. Makes the car sound much more 'solid' while at the same time quieter and cooler.

I didn't use it in my Town Sedan because it also REALLY sticks. And I didn't want anything that permanent on the floor. I may put some in the doors to prevent the metal reverb sound when closing.

I did use this insulation with good results on the floor of the Town Sedan. Comes in a 4X6 roll, cut to fit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carpet-And-H...lW~kLg&vxp=mtr

And yes it's from MAC's...

Got it from Amazon and really works great, makes everything much more solid and takes away that "tinny" sound. Now it is a roadster keep in mind....LOL!!

We used cheep wool blankets from the Surplus Store, cut & adhered them to the inside of body panels with brush on Undercoating. Then we brushed a coating of the Undercoating OVER the wool panels. Worked quite well.

Sounds fine Bill but in my personal case, driving down the road in Sarah, knowing that I'm surrounded by wool Army green surplus blankets would be on the same scale driving down the road smelling an ex-wife's hairspray!!!!

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.....decision time, but I have time, with a heat index of 101, both Sarah and I will stay cool and comfy indoors for a week or so. I don't think any amount of heat deflector on the floor would help in this heat. Grass is burning fast...........

I have the quiet ride firewall insulator. It was not too difficult to install. I did not use the adhesive that came with the insulator. I just used the speedometer clamp screw and another one on the drivers side of the firewall. I did not use the 2 screws for the coil. The mold of the insulator matches the firewall perfectly. Not only does it reduce the noise factor in the car, it also minimizes the heat transfer through the firewall. It comes in black. However, I wanted mine brown to match my kick panels and carpet. I purchased a can of special brown paint from quiet ride. Perfect match. It is a very good upgrade for your "A" and not too expensive.

I want mine to sound like a Model A and not a Rolls Royce. I would never buy the kit. I knew what an A sounded like when I bought it and I have no intention to change it.. Wayne

We've had a couple of experiences with the Dyna Mat. One was a VW van with the stuff
put everywhere. It is so quite it almost gives you a head ache as it sucks all the sound
out. It also adds quite a bit of weight to the vehicle.
The other was a Model A Coupe (hot rod) it was quite a bit cooler and much quieter.
We just had the interior out of a new Tesla and they use Dyna Mat everywhere on it also.

Thanks for the re-painting suggestion, I have the same kick panels and carpet.

I used spray on "Lizardskin " sound deadener and the Lizardskin heatshield on my31 5 window coupe. Coated the interior completly with deadner but the roof and floor only with heatshied product,Quiet and cool was the results.Follow directions, but be warned it is messy but worth it.

All is going well....what's left is the floor boards and...after removing the front floor board.......I ordered a new one which involved ordering both floor boards. I'd never get the material to stick to that board no mater how much elbow grease I'd use or for how long.
