Frenchey, I was the secretary for the Early V-8 Ford Club of America chapter in Fairfield Ca. that David James resurrected in the 90's he was also involved in the Lincoln Owners Club at the same time.

I have driven the V-8 60 and helped him work on the Zephyr and driven it. Both cars were for sale, I'm fairly sure they are gone.

He dropped out of the Early V-8 Ford Club chapter, another V-8 member from Benicia Ca. took over as President. That chapter finally folded for lact of members.

The Chapter was "Northbay Regional Group # 81" The newsletter was " the Gasket Gazette"
Last printed edition was 2-14-2000. The president at that time was Jim Teves.

I haven't seen or herd of him in the last 13 years.

Thanks for the feedback on this. I had rebuild the engine in his 39 Ford Standard the V8 60 before he went to Canada.

I hate to say this, but if you have Ancestry.com, you might check the Social Security Death Index.

Frenchy, If someone was looking for me that long, I'd think he'd be wearin' a stinking badge and packin' a six gun!

Here is an enlarged picture of the Cover of V8 Times - March-April 1997 showing 1939 Ford Standard Coupe. Hope that you find your friend?

There are lots of "David James" around. Based on California records, and if you're sure he lived in Fairfield CA and moved to Nevada, he is David H. James living in Carson City. Try Googling that name and city; you may get an address or even a phone number for free. Otherwise, for a small fee a web site like whitepages.com might provide more details.

However, if you can verify his middle name and/or a relative's name (wife children etc) I can look again for more detail. Maybe there's so more detail in that magazine.

I found a Vietnam Navy buddy of mine that I lost track of by using Truthfinder.com. It was cheap way to track him down.

Hope not.
