I bought one of these.

http://www.vintageprecision.com/products/hub_pullers/

It worked for me where the old one I had before had failed. I've only used it a few times, but I think it's pretty good for what it cost. My one hub was VERY tight, and it did the job.

Mac Van Pelt rents the KR Wilson puller: http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_home.htm

Be sure to check local clubs and see if they have one to loan, Model A (except some of the early ones) and Early V8 is the same.

KR from Winfield Tool Works really works great. I am using a broken (welded) torque wrench as a breaker bar.

Then there's the "old school" way to loosen the hubs. No tool needed. Leave the wheels on the vehicle. Back the castle nut off several turns. Go find an empty parking lot. Turn tight circles at a good speed until you feel the inside hub pop. Then go the other direction and repeat. Drive slowly back to the shop.

I have the Vintage Precision one no problems. This is a tool you want with the best quality, it can be a very serious task removing the rear hubs.

Is the vintage precision the one that's made in California on a CNC machine? Same principle as the Wilson, split collar and sleeve. Couldn't get the KR Wilson repro guys in NY to pick up the phone so I kept looking and found Vintage. Looks like a quality tool, but I never seem to be able to make a link show up.

Winfield tools no longer makes the hub puller they sold there stock out to All ford parts in CAL. They are asking 275 for one. Seem a like a little much. If you really need one they have 2 left

Mine came yesterday. It weighs 4 lbs and comes in a special threaded plastic storage sleeve. It is truly thing of beauty, and much larger and more robust than it looks in the photos. We have company for the weekend but when they head to the ferry later this morning, you know where I'm heading!

Before you try to pull the hubs, be sure E-brake is off and you need to adjust the brake shoes all the way in in order to avoid having the lip of the drums catch on the shoes . Go here for more info on brakes. http://www.btc-bci.com/~billben/flathead.htm Good luck.
