Hi Guys thought I would post this to see if it ever happened to any one. A REALLY BEAUTIFUL DAY AT THE MONMOUTH RACE TRACK CAR SHOW THIS PAST SUNDAY, and we won !!! best of the 30's . But on the way home , on this lovely day i may have pushed the car to its limits. I'm in my 31 roadster with my brother watching the speedometer SAYING wow 49 MILES AN HR. , NOW 50 YIPPIE, OH BOY 53 , AND SUDDENLY THE ENGINE JUST SHUT DOWN ?? WE PULLED INTO A GAS STATION , CHECKED THINGS OUT , SAW NOTHING WRONG AND I TRIED TO START IT. SHE STARTED RIGHT UP AND I DROVE THE REMAINING 4 MILES TO MY HOUSE [ MUCH MORE SLOWLY ] NO PROBLEM . THIS EVER HAPPENED TO ANY ONE. ?? I THOUGHT MAYBE THE SPARK WASN'T ADVANCED ENOUGH AND SOME HOW IT JUST QUIT?? THANKS FOR ANY INPUT the hooch

If it was an instant shut down then that is electrical, if it was a sputter then fuel. Since you started her up again I am going with fuel. Did you check fuel flow?

I would venture to say the Ol' Girl didn't have much interest in going 50 mph and let you know! That and what 1930artdeco said.
