Model A document holder
What's out there to hold registrations and insurance cards? No glove compartment makes it a challenge. Not sure if I like the strap on to the steering column pouches I see. I have a 28 open car phaeton so no sun visor either.

Re: Model A document holder
A friend has a floor mat in his car and keeps it all there between the mat and carpet. Seems to work well.

Re: Model A document holder
Snyder's has the little thing that goes around the steering column. At least that's what I use for my Phaeton....Under floor mat is good idea also.

Re: Model A document holder
A zip lock freezer bag under the mat sounds good.
Years ago when I first rescued my truck (52 f-1) I kept those papers in the glove box. It rained and guess what, there was a leak. I replaced the windshield seal long ago but still am using the same trusty ol Zip Lock Freezer bag for the paperwork. |

Re: Model A document holder
Mine are all in ziplock bags under the seats.I only have to access the stuff once a year, when I renew them.I have YOM plates on my cars, which in N.H.that means I have to carry the state issues modern antique plate with me too.So if anybody wants to see my registration and YOM certificate they are wanting to see my state plate too.so I pretty much have to take out the seat no matter what.

Re: Model A document holder
I think the days of having your name, address, car ID numbers in view of anyone that looks, on the steering column is past. I keep mine out of sight but handy if I need them.

Re: Model A document holder
I found this holder on eBay. It will hold the instruction booklet in it's pocket, registration and insurance on the other side. I keep this in the door pocket.

Re: Model A document holder
Yup....if memory serves me I think it was required that that stuff be on the steering column. I still have mine on the column but also use a cigar box under the driver's seat.

Re: Model A document holder
I don't know what other body styles have but on the 31 Roadster there are pockets in the kick panels (these are replacement kick panels that came with the interior kit from Mac's) where I store the car paperwork.

Re: Model A document holder
One option is to buy poly or vinyl self adhesive CD sleeves that are self adhered to inside of report covers.
Stick them under side of the gas tank. |

I'm with dpson. Put mine in the Model A glove box, AKA document box, that mounts to the right side kick panel on my late '31 CCPU.

Re: Model A document holder
I use one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Slips into the door pocket although it is a little long and sticks up above the pocket. |
