Default Tire Tubes

If the proper sized tube were not available, any real world experiences on whether a 19" tube would perform satifactorily in a 21" tire or vice-versa?

Default Re: Tire Tubes

"Back in the day" I put tubes in tires that were an inch or so "too small" with no problem. I think the quality of tubes today is not what it used to be, and some may say that the extra stretch could be detrimental. I have heard a Motorcycle tube can be used on a 21. I am sure someone here will tell you if the valve stem is in the right spot. 21 is a common front wheel size amongst the Harley set.

Not sure about the answer to your question but I have used tubes that were a little smaller than required in 19" tires. On a long trip in my coupe I blew two old tubes and was forced to quickly source a new one. Tractor Supply carries close sizes that got me on my way.
