Default Grease fittings on my steering box, 7 tooth.

Hello,

Can I assume that Grease fittings on my steering box, 7 tooth, are incorrect? What if there is grease in there? I acquired the car last August and have no background on the car.

Thanks!

Use gear oil in the steering box, the dealers added this liquid lube with a grease gun. Later
Ford changed the fitting to a plug to stop backyard and poor (inept) mechanics from using grease!
