Default Wanted '56 Ford-o-matic

City: Augusta
State: GA

I'm looking for a '56 Ford-o-matic transmission. Mine has given out, no one local that knows anything about it. Tried rebuilding myself, tired of pulling it out, putting it in only to not work. Surely someone must have one that they changed to a different transmission some time ago. Get it out of your way and into my car! Reasonable price and willingness to ship will get it out of your way. I'd be happy to pick up in mid-north FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, MD, WV or mid-southern PA.

Maybe other years will fit, or someone knows of a good conversion. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

Sorry, forgot to mention, my engine is a 292. It's original to the car.

Both of you are a little out of the area I normally travel. Are either of you willing to ship (at my expense, of course)? It may be less expensive to have it transported to Maryland, residential zip 21555. Let me know and we'll finalize details. Fasttrack, is yours air-cooled as well? My existing one is, so it would be easier to go back with that.
