It's an EDB-E with a January '58 date code if that makes a difference. Some years of blocks may tolerate that amount of over-bore better than others, I don't know. . Last edited by dmsfrr; 04-03-2021 at 09:49 AM. |

Re: 80 over rebuild
My "Huh?" response was to a spam post in what appeared to Russian. The moderator must have removed it. I understand about bore limits and core shift.

Re: 80 over rebuild
Sonic testing is the best way to proceed.
FYI, regarding racing applications, John or Geoff Mummert and Joe Crain, don't recommend boring a 312 block, more than .040. It's been said that the cylinder cores are the same on on the 292 & 312. I'm not a Y-block guy so, I have no experience with them, but, Geoff & Joe, have a lot of experience with them. There is one more that can be consulted, Ted Eaton: https://www.eatonbalancing.com/2000/...cing-articles/ Any of those 4 people, can tell you what is what, on a Y-block, it's how they make there living.

Re: 80 over rebuild
Would you care to elaborate or even just reply in a somewhat knowledgeable manner?

Let's look at this again. You somehow think my statement above about the Y-BLOCK 292/312 CASTING is not correct? If I am wrong, I am wrong. But bring facts, not potshots. Now, can you provide anything substantial to the contrary or will I be forced to post new SEX JOKES that seem to disturb you so badly ...

Re: 80 over rebuild
I guess 'ol blacktie got held up yesterday in worship and bible class. Those terrible sex jokes he stumbled across here must have really worn him down.
