Default '38 pickup rear view mirror ??

What, if any, automobile or other year truck mirrors would be correct for a '38 pickup? The pickup has hole markings for a specific mirror mounting. Jim

I hope you find the right one I bought several for my 39 pkup . And none were right . So I made a bracket to hold one of them it works , but my truck is not a show truck .i believe some came with out a rear view mirror. Mine had no holes to mount it . Just dimples for the holes. SNSHINE.

Originally there was NO interior rear view mirror. If you want to install one, any from 39-40 passenger car will fit. I doubt they will do much good.

The reproduction hinge pin mirror shown in a previous post is "close". An authentic hinge pin mirror had a raven black finish. The three slotted screws that hold the mirror in to the housing were cadmium plated.

Beginning in 1940, an inside rear view mirror became available. It replaced the upper (small) trim piece at the windshield molding.

My '39 p/u didn't have an interior rear view mirror when I got it. A buddy gave me one from a model A which pretty much screwed on. Not original but but looks like it belongs and it serves its purpose.

Sunshine, I was inquiring about the inside rear view mirror. Sorry I wasn't more specific. Thanks everyone for your responses. Jim
