Need interior help, again.
36 tudor touring humpback.
I need some info on the seats and armrests for this car. I suspect that the seats now in it were from another year, but not sure. There are no armrests in the car. Would someone please post some pictures of the front seat, especially the operating handle, and the armrests? I am about to order upholstery or have an upholsterer give me an estimate and want an authentic interior. Thanks for the help. Royal |

Re: Need interior help, again.
Arm rest are the same from 35-40 That I know of maybe other years. here are some photos from 35. The seat adjuster on the 36 is very much like the 34-35 except the handle faces the driver side when installed.

Thanks very much, Terry,OH. Do you happen to have a picture of the seat adjuster for the 35? I am trying to identify the seat that I have but had no luck trying to post a photo of it.
Thanks |

Re: Need interior help, again.
The adjuster I posted above is for the one piece front seat of the Cabriolet, Coupe, Convertable Sedan & Fordor . The Tudor has an adjustable drivers seat only. I do not have photos of this seat adjuster. The arm rest is the same.

Re: Need interior help, again.
The 38 hardware book has photos of some hardware for the front seat. Especially the passenger seat, which hinges up and when down rest on a brace.

Re: Need interior help, again.
My car has a single front seat with two seat backs. The seat backs swing forward independently to admit passengers to the back seat. The whole unit is controlled by an adjusting mechanism operated from the left end of the seat on the driver's side. The adjusting handle is made of round steel and has a complete loop at its end.
I suspect my seat is not original to the car but is probably a later vintage. Thanks to all who are trying to help. |

Re: Need interior help, again.
Royal, 35 & 36 tudors all had bucket front seats. To me they were not comfortable.I had a 35 tudor a few yrs back and tossed the buckets in favor of a 40 tudor seat that fit perfectly.Someone switched yours out.37 was the first year for tudors to have a bench seat with split backs.Post a picture if you can.

Re: Need interior help, again.
Your seat adjuster handle sounds like 37 or 38 Ford. They are also pictured in the 38 Hardware book.

Re: Need interior help, again.
Thanks to all who are helping. I am embarrassed to be so inept with the computer. I will eventually figure out how to get photos from the camera to the Barn!
Until then, I am almost certain that my front seat is from a later model car. Maybe a 40, because it had some other 40 stuff on it, steering wheel, steering column. I sure appreciate the help I've received so far. Royal |

Re: Need interior help, again.
Photos can be somewhat deceiving but it looks like the 37 seat adjuster handle. Typically the 37 handle loop itself is vertical with the small open part of the loop upward. The loop and shaft are typically more upright at about 45 degrees. The 37 restoration book has a photo on page 3-6 plus there are two variations of the handle for 37 one is just the handle and the second has a small bracket attached to the handle that would mount under the seat upholstery.
