Default Extra Parts & Pieces.

I replaced my 47s transmission link rod seals a month ago, went off without a hitch, resealed the side plate, and my annoying leak was cured, tight as a drum.
Yesterday while cleaning my bench I came across a small pin tapered on each end, son of a biscuit eater, I left the pin that goes in the spring too the detent balls out, I have driven the car a few hundred miles with no disaster so far.
I will reinstall the pin, my question is, is there a danger driving the car until I reinstall the pin?

I'm not sure, but is it the pin that prevents you engaging (for instance) 1st and 3rd at the same time?

If so it would be best to either not use it, or drive it very carefully especially on the 1-2 shift.

Mart.

I am not sure what its purpose is, but yours sounds right.
Would 1st and 3rd together give it overdrive.

To Be safe, STOP and put the pins back in. Not worth the gamble.

Lol no 1st and 3rd doesn't give you 4th!

It would lock the trans solid and could potentially cause a skid. Very dangerous.
