Default A head question

I'm overhauling a model A engine I acquired this summer. The serial number is not the regular number used on cars and trucks, so I assume it was a commercial engine. The numbers look to be factory correct. But the main thing that puzzles me is the head. It looks like a standard head but on the top, just behind the water outlet it has the letters "Model A" cast on it. Not added but cast with the head. Have any of you run across such a thing? I haven't. The combustion chambers look a little different, too. Your thoughts about what it is and/or who made it?

I saw one of those last year at an auto swap meet in Charlotte NC. I believe it would be an after-market high compression head.
Attach pics of the combustion chamber side as well

Vince's site says it's a copy of the police head.

Bob, thanks for the info. It is indeed a copy of the Police head (5.2:1). No maker listed. This engine was very well worn but still had compression readings of:
#1-70 #2-75 #3-80 #4-80 lbs at 6,000 foot elevation. It should come up a little after I get the head surfaced.
Sorry I can't post pictures. This computer is missing some of its' programs.

Hmmmm, mine has "Model A" cast in the head as well. Just thought that was the way they were. Mine is NOT a high compression head and i don't think there is anything unusual about the combustion chambers.

After posting the information from Vince's site I went and looked at one
I have today and it's NOT a copy of a police head, mine looks just like
a stock head.
