To be clear; if it only overheats at idle, I'd run the piss out of it. If it overheats going down the road, I think you may have other problems.

I will take the thermostats out today (9/26) and see what happens. Can`t drive it yet, need to install the accelerator pedal.

I had a hot running 59A after a rebuild too. After 4 or 5 short rides the problem was gone, like what tubman said above.

I'd leave the thermostats alone and concentrate on getting the accelerator pedal installed then get it on the road!

... and increasing the flow does not cause the overheating problem!
