Default fordomatic linkage

I have completely rebuilt my fordomatic, but unfortunately I can't figure out the linkage. The outside part turns the inside part, but the inner part does not touch anything inside. Once the locking pawl releases, the linkage doesn't move anything at all inside the transmission. Does anyone have any idea what I am missing? I assume there should be some connection to the valve body, but mine is missing or I'm on the wrong track. Thanks in advance for the help!

The throttle shaft pokes thru the manual lever shaft into the inside of the case. The end of the throttle shaft is threaded. There should be a toggle lever that slips into that threaded part of the shaft and it is held in place by a casle nut.

Thanks for the reply. All of that is there, the linkage is complete, it just doesn't move anything inside the transmission. I guess a better question would be what causes the transmission to engage when the linkage is moved? The linkage inside does not move anything other than the locking pawl. What makes it go into drive, reverse, neutral or low? The linkage doesn't move anything except the locking pawl. Should there be some connection to the valve body?

Here are some pictures that should explain how it goes together clearer than I could do with words.

Just a thought: there are 2 leavers off the trans, one shifts the car and one controls the pressure to make it shift. Don't mix up what you are looking at. Gerry

The inside lever is for the down shift off carb linkage and the out side lever is to the column shift.

Dominic, your pictures just showed me what I'm missing. I missed lining up the pin on the inside lever with the valve body. Sometimes, it's the most obvious things... Thanks for the replies and the help! Hopefully, this weekend I'll get her fixed for good!
