"meds kicked in"? Or more likely, wore off!

Maybe his old lady told him,"enough already on that website..." when he was typing mid sentence and didn't get to finish what he was typing.

I realize this is an older thread, but I am wondering a bit about the Mercury 2X4 manifold?
There was mentioned that it is/was a bit better than the Ford manifolds, due to some spacing issues on the Merc manifold. Rather that the Merc had better spacing?
Would someone tell me what the differences were?
Thanks so much
Jim

That would be the EDELBROCK FM255 or as cast for FORD ECZ-9424-D

This should answer your questions - http://www.eatonbalancing.com/2014/0...-heads-part-i/

... sheesh ...

Thanks K
After looking at the differences in Carb spacing, I can see the advantage, but to my eyes, doesn't seem that it would make that much difference.
Thanks again for the info
Best

The intake was designed and produced by EDELBROCK. They did the development and testing, not FOMOCO. That explains the difference(s) between that manifold and the later two developed by different manufacturers.

The reason for the carb pad placement was for first design carb type usage. Had EDEL been given instructions to use the H-D-4, the arrangement may have been different.

Now, if Mummert would just make a 2 x 4 manifold, it would be great

Don’t tease us. I think that was photo shopped from another post or another site. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be on the waiting list.
