Couldn't wait any longer for a little drive, even though the input bearing is beginning to rattle. The cam also picked up some cab rattles that I don't notice when driving. Well anyway, a little drive around my neighborhood always improves the state of my mind. I need to tend to the maintenance issues before serious driving weather arrives in another 6 weeks.

I'm it total lust with your truck though, I gotta tell you. What overhead is that? What's the sticker say on the wishbone. Love the hood. Is there anywhere to get a three door hood new?
I just can't explain how in lust I am right now.

Thanks, Tiny- The head is a 6:1 Lion Speed Head with single plugs and I'm really grinning that it looked like an overhead at a glance. As an aside, the engine is totally stock and not fully rebuilt as it still has the original factory babbit, that's just been adjusted once, honed and ringed and a valve job. It is unbelievably smooth and I really shouldn't be putting so many miles on it. The sticker on the wishbone says "Real men drive straight axles". The hood has four doors that lean back 10 deg. and the Speedsters' signature "flying bee hive" louver pattern. I made the hood and can make you one. You can see it in bare metal on my web site www.olympic-speedsters.com .

Awesome video. What is the name of the color of your truck? The video played a lil fuzzy on my phone and I couldn't tell.

Barber- It's the video that's fuzzy, probably not your phone. The colors are Model A chicle drab with copra drab inset. The PPG Chicle is clear coated with two thin coats of Copra PPG DCC for the inset and the tape edge left unsanded and unpolished.

Hi Everyone, I don't post on this forum very often, but Jim I have to say you really gave me a smile this morning! Thanks for getting the truck out and driving it, I see you even share! The sound she makes is priceless.

The paint is so cool, it reminds me of Clark Gable's Duesenberg.

If everything works out, I'll be taking my PU out for a run on Saturday (tomorrow). Currently it's 12 degrees and snow predicted later today.

Sorry Carl - we broke an all-time high today in Austin at 86 degrees. Fun to drive a Model A with the windows down. San Antonio hit 92 today.

Well, I didn't make it out last Saturday. Battery was dead as a doornail and wouldn't take a charge. 2 days later and 5 trips to Sears, I now have a new battery (no $$, was under warranty). Pulled it out in the driveway on Monday and let it run for about 15 minutes.

This afternoon, however, it got to go for a 5 mile drive on some super slick streets. Getting it ready for a parade and car show day after tomorrow!
