Default 59A Oil Filter For '40 Car, Interference?

Do I run the 59A bypass filter on the forward or rearward position to clear '40 radiator hoses etc? Thanks: Fred A

I would think rear of the head would be best for Clearance.

Fred, It was attached to the front of the head. No interference issues whatsoever.

The 59A engine with no filter was in the '40 car as it came. It had three 97s, an Isky full cam, Weiand heads, and a Harman Collins dual coil. All wrong for my car. I had commented on this site of how clean and fresh it looked inside having been in a covered patio since '71. The most direct way to back on the road is to civilize the 59A with Ford heads, cam and intake. A crack free 99A engine came with the car which may be the engine of the future after a rebuild. Already, engine in the chassis, mounted the filter and tomorrow the oil lines will be fitted. For me the process has been slower than expected with so many details beyond my knowledge. Thanks: Fred A
