Bosch TCI-Ignition Coil?
Seems that it is for transistor ignition. Guess that means my Ford distributor is not a match. How about the FSI module? Any ideas? Thanks: Fred A

Re: Bosch TCI-Ignition Coil?
Not sure what you are saying or asking. If the coil is not suitable don't you just need a suitable coil?
The Bosch blue coil is often recommended. What is your setup? 6V? 12V? There was a link recently to the blue coils on amazon at very reasonable money. The 12v one is used without a resistor. Mart. |

Re: Bosch TCI-Ignition Coil?
It is a new in box Bosch blue coil but the sticker says it's for transistor ignition. It is 12V. The question is where it can be used. Thanks: Fred A

If the resistance of the coil is to low the increased amount of current running through the coil will burn out your points fast. So rule of thumb 1.5 ohm for 6v and 3 ohm for 12v. You can run the modern dry coils made for "modern" ignitions on points they work just fine as long as they are not to low resistance for your your points to survive. |
