"MAC's" (Eckler's) or Mac van Pelt? I'll bet on the former.

Why not put an ad on the Swap Page here. Or call one of the independent nos and used parts guys here on the barn? For example Micheal Driskell at Third Gen Automotive in McMinnville, TN.

Why use the phone? You can order anything they have online by going to their website. I can't remember the last time I ordered something and used the phone. You obviously have a computer.

Always check the status of something on Drake's website to see if it is "out of stock" before you order. He isn't called "Back order Bob" for nothing.

The time is not a problem for me. I plan ahead, call, turn on the speaker phone and check my mail, fordbarn, Ahooga, EFV8 site and HAMB. Most places answer before I am finished. With the right mindset it is actually relaxing. Also works well when calling the IRS and DMV.

I agree we all are in too much of a hurry! Just think how fast paced it was 100 years ago! And lifespans as a rule were a bit shorter.

Getting a recorded message telling you how many minutes you’ll be on hold is not us (VANPELT SALES). I’m guessing your phone call was to MACS ANTIQUE AUTO PARTS. I always feel that I have to clear that up.......... Mac VanPelt

I don’t know, I like to talk to a real person when ordering anything, but that’s just me.

Agree with you Ralph! Actually, I do both. If what I is need is pretty straight forward, I order it on line. On the other hand, there's no substitute for a chance to talk with Mac VP, or Joe or Kyle at C&G...those guys have forgotten more Ford information than I'll every acquire!!

I quit ordering from Macs, At one time it was convenient, not so much for yrs. Maybe also i don't need a lot of parts for a rebuild that I can wait on. So many options here now days.

I bought a lot of parts for my "46 over the last 6 months, from, Mac's, Drake and Carpenter. Living in Canada, means it takes a bit of time to get parts shipped, and shipping can be expensive. My LAST order with Mac's took a month, from the time I ordered until I got the parts. I talked to several persons over that period of time and got lots of excuses and apologies. I asked for a discount due to the delay and the answer was no. Hmmmm. Good customer service? Carpenter people are a lot more accommodating for shipping option, and I have had good service from Drake, even on backordered parts follow-up.

Another vote for Joe's. Still worth a call for stuff after '48. He knows old Fords and has connections to other vendors. Everyone at Joe's is knowledgeable and just plain good people. JMO
