Default 1952 ford poppin when ltting off gas

flathead ford 52 popping through muffler when letting off gas some loud esp in 2nd gear any thoughts would that be a 2 rich carb????? Dennis also been baking the car in sun for 4 days now and paint still sticky in sun and seems dry when cooled off o well.....been over 2 months not for that o well guess a diff paint job......

Popping back when letting off is generally from unburned gas in the exhaust, which can be caused by too rich. There are other possible causes, including too lean! What do your plugs say? Rich/blackish or lean/whitish?

Yep, leaky exhaust valves is the most common problem.
