Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
I really like the 36 style. However, the 40/41 cars and trucks where not only beautiful, but well balanced in design. The 40/41 Pickups were deffinately the best looking Fords ever made. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
I always wanted a 32, 3 window coupe. Should have bought one several years ago. I like my 33 coupe, my 35 pickup, my 39 conv., my 40 conv. now Mother getting me a 32 for being a good boy. They are like women love them all. My son Marty like my 33 and I was always going to give it to him. He died before I could give it to him. The last ride he rode with me was in the 40 Conv. I ask Marty if he wanted to drive but he was to sick to drive. I put the 33 in the Ford museum so it will never be sold. If you go to You Tube and type in 1933 Ford 5 window coupe there a story about the car as Marty car. I am sorry that I did not give it to him while he was alive. At least now its Marty's car.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
I prefer the "art deco" look of the 39-41 sedans.. Coupes are for girls.. LOL

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
My opinion has always been any 1933 - 34 vehical. I grew up with 1933
PD Plymouths (a lot of them) but always wanted a V8. Unfortunaly most if not all especially 40-48's all landed up in our local oval race track. |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
There are only three straight lines on the bodies of 33 and 34's. The grille on a 34 has more definition than a 33 and stands out more. The grilles 20 degree backward slant (rake) that matches the hood louvers follows to the windshield stanchions on a 34 Roadster and Phaeton. 33's missed this with hood louvers and grille. All other 33, 34 bodies do not have the matching slant on the windshield posts. I feel this is why they have a style of perfection. E.J. Gregorie the body designer had the same opinion of all the cars he designed for Ford. Of course I could be bias.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
36... more dusty, then rusty.
Gravel roads are a blast to drive, especially the corners. Last fall and a photo filter. |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Fun thread...
Like many of you - I do like them all. Least liked was my first car - 51 Ford Club Coupe. All my friends had 55 or later cars that had a lot more power and (my opinion) better styling. Most liked is the 1933 and 34 cars. My preference between the two is my 33 Tudor.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Lotsa reading, good thread. "Beauty in the eyes of the beholder" don't know whose quote but it's true. I'm partial to all the coupes & Tudors. Wish I had more room and more of them😀

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
You only need to look at one or two Dodges or Hudsons to realise there is no ugly Ford V8.
There may be a pretty Dodge or Hudson, but the ones I am thinking about can't hold a candle to a Ford. Mart. |
