Default New toy....

40 Deluxe. This my new toy (not a truck this time). I couldn't resist. I may have lots of non-truck questions for those of you in the know. This is a restored car but needs a bit of TLC.

Congratulations. It is nice to see a Fordor for a change, as a lot of people ignore this body style.

Here is an Australian assembled 1940 Ford Deluxe Fordor Sedan. They are few and far between in this part of the world. I am led to believe that only 1656 examples of the 1940 Ford Deluxe Fordor Sedans were sold in Australia, plus 243 1940 Ford Standard Fordor Sedans. From these numbers, you can see why so few remain.

That's how Ford Marketing has always referred to 4-Door Sedans - Fordor. They refer to 2-Door Sedans as Tudor....

Wow, that's a beautiful car! And as stated the color looks perfect on it and thanks mercman for enlarging the photo. It really came alive with that.

Love it Mark. Does this mean the T will be on the back burner for a while?

Thanks to all of you, good to be back on this part of the forums. No I still have the T going, just finished doing some woodwork on it and am still collecting parts. (see photo).

I hope that it is ok to post a photo of a T here. Got to love old Fords right?

i couldn't pick any color neater... Every model from that year can captivate me.

Don't ask about decisions I've made, rather than satisfy that itch.

Good for you. You the man.

Ok guys, I have 2 important questions.

I need to put turn signals on this car(that you can really see), what is the easiest, inexpensive way to do that?

I need to put seat belts in (front and back), same question.

I am guessing that there are kits for both?

thank you in advance.

Mark

On my avatar 36 I used the stop lights in rear added yellow fog lights to front & used the wired through relays (6volt bosch VW ) for front turn signals. Work great.

Juliano's would be a good source for seat belts. 19fordy had a good thread on installation of seatbelts in his 40 car, not sure if model is the same but might be similar 6-26-17.

I've always been a Washington Blue with Tacoma Cream accents but I think I've got a new favorite color. I know didly squat about '40's but Drake lists this kit for front turn signals but it is only for Deluxe models so I don't know if that is what you have or not. https://www.bobdrake.com/FordItem.aspx?Item=HR-13082
