Default 1953 FORD TRUCK FAN / pully

question, will a 1953 ford pu 6 blade fan and pully and mount, fit on a 59ab engine. Thinking of getting the 6 blade fan for those hot arizona summers.

thanks for your thoughts

Will the pulley's line up. Not sure but, you may find the fan blades will not clear the radiator hoses.

i saw a flathead with the original fan pulley that had 6 aluminum blades on it. the blades were like the 41 fords, 3 longer and 3 shorter (if i remember right). i didn't get a chance to talk to the owner but it looks like it was modified very nicely and i am thinking about doint the same thing.

The 8BA family of fans were designed to fit on a nice open engine frontal area with the distributor on the upper right side. If you try to put one where a distibutor is mounted, it's not a very good fit plus the belt tracks are in different positions. A person would have to put all the 8BA frontal equipment on there to make it work well. You should be able to find a fan from one of the earlier trucks for a 59A application and modify it to fit.

I put an aluminum 6 blade fan on the 53 flathead I have in my 55 f-100.I used everything that came with the engine and only had to drill one hole to mount the fan.The fan clears the radiator hoses and the shroud .I also put on an alternator. Not a big job .I got the fan from Speedway .It is not an orginal ford fan though.Works for me
