Default Coil question

I bought this slant pole coil at a swap meet a year or so ago. I was wondering if it is an after market coil or maybe an original coil. It is an Autolite coil. It works OK, but needs a little cleaning up. As a second question - how is the best way to clean the brown plastic or what ever it is where the high tension wire is plugged in the coil?
Thanks for any help.

I would call that a post Model A production replacement coil. Be sure the primary posts first have an insulating washer, then flat, lock, and hex nut. Then the wires and barrel nuts.
